Thomas Ferrara- SEII ROV Arm/Claw Daily Update

As of April 22, 2009, the ROV is still having some issues. The bouyancy needs to be adjusted (a small issue in itself) and the electrical system needs to be fixed. The electrical system has several flaws. We discovered that one the motors is not working. As of now, we believe that this is due to a disconnection of a wire. If this is the case it seems very evident that the wiring is not durable enough to be in the pool.

Our plan for the next two days is as follows. During this class period as well as during Kevin Iannacones last period systems engineering, myself and Kevin will be working on fixing the issues in the electrical system (we had previously spent other classes finishing the electrical system: epoxy). Myself and Kevin are going to be staying after school for several hours to complete the electrical problems and bouyancy. With some hard work we plan to have the kinks worked out by the time we finish tonight. We plan on working on our presentation and poster board during our next classes.

As of now we have some team issues. There seems to have been a miscommunication in when designs would be finished and it has left us here, only a couple days before the competition, with minimal testing finished. Nicole Depasquale has been absent from school since the beginning of this week. Due to this Kevin and I have had some issues handling the electrical and control system.

I pray that all will be worked on and that we will do well in the competition.

that is all; tom f
