CONSTRUCTION PROCESS UPDATE:
**I am now 100% complete with the construction of the "NO-Claw Design", KI is 100% complete with the construction of the hull design, ND is 90% complete with the construction of the electrical system.
Over the course of the last six months the design, planning and development of my final design for the MATE ROV Competition claw system has occured. The process has lead me through four different designs (due to changes in tasks and task analysis) and has brought me upon a final design which includes the attachment of two PVC units.
The new "NO-Claw Design" was planned on last Thursday during a collaboration with my teammates, as well as WG and JC and then the confirmed by DA.
The new design is now completed and attached to the ROV. The majority of the work that remains is not in the construction lab but in the pool for testing and practice.
Outside of the construction lab I am working on organizing factual evidence to support the reasons for changing the design. To be brief, two main reasons for changing the design was:
1. To hasten the process of construction and simplify the design (after analysis we found that the tasks could be complete with out the use of the claw)
2. To finish a design that could be more reliable under the water during the competition.
