Official Testing Procedures

The most accurate way of testing the claw and the ROV as a whole is to see how we do at the actual competition in comparision to both the current competition and the MAST teams of previous years.

The testing procedures must be viable and test the product by putting it in a real world scenerio. The scenerio created below to test the claw is based off the situation at the competition.

Testing Procedures: (Must take place under at least 10 feet of water)

1. Submerge the ROV to a depth of 1/8 atmosphere (4 feet)

2. Open and close the claw by pulling in and out on the syringe.
2a. Repeat several times to achieve fluid motion

3. Pull basket backwards and fowards through use of the syringe

4. Operate calw in order to pick up a ball.

5. Secure the ball and put the ROV in motion for 10 seconds

6. Drop the ball into the basket and drive around for 10 seconds

7. Pull back basket and move to next ball.

8. Pick up second ball and put the ROV in motion

9. Return Basket to outward position and drop ball in.

Repeat steps 2-9 at depths: 1/4 atmosphere (8 feet) and 1/2 atmosphere (16 feet)
